Anyone here own one of Rinkers Wakeboard boats. I've only had mine a few months now, but I've already started thinking about the next one. Probably still 2-3 years off into the future, but something to dream/work for right?

Anyway, the R1's and R2's look to be a REALLY nice boat. Just curious if anyone here had one, and how they liked it. I'm also curious how long those have been around. I'm not looking to drop $50-$60k on one, so going used, and older is the ticket for me. Just curious how old I should be looking for.

Heres one on eBay that I like. Although the $57k buy-it-now price scares me some.

I have  2007 R1. I traded my 2006 226 for it. My dealer gave me a great deal on the trade. You will not need to spend 50-60k on an R1. More like 40k. It is a great boat. There may be better wakeboard boats out there like Supra or Momba but non of them can compare with the comfort and looks of the R1.

Red,

Any reason you took the depreciation hit rather than have a tower installed on your 226??  Just curious.  I ordered a 226 with 350mag and tower and also plan on installed a 4-blade stainless prop.  Had one on my old boat and it gave a great holeshot, held well at wakeboard speed, and didn't lose much on top end.  I figured I could install tower speakers and amp myself, and I personally prefer the 226's standard side graphics to the R1's.

I tried wakeboarding last night.......I'm hooked. Took me about 2-3 tries to get up and going good, but I got it finally. No tricks yet, just some basic learning to stand on the dang thing.......I'm here to tell you, it beat skiing hands down!

I also tried wake-skating. Same idea/concept, but no bindings. Also way cool to ride, and of course beats the snot out of skiing. If you'de asked me a month ago if it was possible to stand on a board behind a boat without bindings, I would've said you couldn't do it. I did it last night!

Now I just need to find a bigger truck, so I can get a bigger boat, so I can get a bigger wake!

I did not take much of a hit at all with the trade. My dealer gave me almost what I paid on the 226. I lost a total of $500.00. I looked at doing a tower my self but it got to be a pretty expensiv project when looking at the tower, speakers and wakeboard holders. My boat has a High Five 5 blade prop. Works great.
