I'm new to the board but have gleened a lot from it as a lurker.  There is a LOT of expertise here.

I am selling my sailboat and am nearly ready to pull the trigger on a one-owner 2003 Rinker 312.  It's well kept and clean.  The only problems I've seen after one time with the current owner are:
About 1 1/2 inches of water in the bilge
Right engine temp gauge is erratic until it warms up
The VHF antenna is broken and needs replaced
The speedometer appears slow - need to verify

I plan to have it hauled and surveyed but suspect it needs a bottom job - the last one was 2003 before it was launched.  The owner is selling it for financial reasons and asking $88.5k.  It's been a fresh water boat all its life and the interior is all stock.

From what you've read is it a  fair deal?  Thanks.

Sounds like a nice boat... The few little problems don't sound like anything major. All easily explained and fixed. I'm sure the bottom needs repaint which is normal. The speedo will never be accurate just check it or use the GPS to be accurate. I would just hold off w/ all negotiations and expectations until after the survey which will be the best investment you ever make in your new boat.....

Good Luck

Hooky, I bought an '02 310 last June.  Pretty close to what you are looking at.  as far as the bilge, yes, in the engine room you will have about that much retaining water, the way the bilge pumps are setup, it just won't get it bone dry.  Make sure to look at the bilge area under the mid-cabin...that one should be fairly dry.  Speedo, no big deal...go by the GPS.  Actually, it seems my speedo gets clogged by early on in the year every year.

As far as the gauges, I think they are Faria, so they should have a lifetime warranty...although it may just be time to check the connections for a little corrosion on the backside, again, no big deal.

Another thing that may not work is your monitor for the tank levels (water and waste)...they seem to go after the first year or so...I believe the newer ones now have a better design.

As far as price, if it is a very very clean boat, loaded up with a genny too, then that's not too bad...it really depends on your area.  Around here, I would say $80k.  Mine, a year ago, with taxes/tags, was 80k.  This was for an extremely clean, loaded boat with 103 hours.  Hope that helps.

We absolutely love our boat.  The layout is fantastic, everything is easy to get to.
