Dan, sounds like a fantastic weekend planned, no matter where you go...just sitting on that new boat with a huge smile wink  and enjoy it all!

I'll be on the water tomorrow too watching the blue angels do their show for the Naval Academy grads...usually a good time on the water and a great way to get an early start of the longer weekend!

Depending on the weather...we will either head north to Lake Huron or south to Lake St. Clair for some day trips. Either way, hope to put at least a few hours on the boat.

We will be sleeping on it regardless, as we have given up our bedroom at the cottage to family.  :D

Boy, everyone sounds like they are going to have a great time.

My boat is in the water I'm told as of yesterday. Today though when I called to find out what the schedule looks like for picking it up I got a song and dance about how they were swamped (getting a 350 ready for delivery among other things) and they might not have it done for this weekend.

The dealer is on the south shore of Long Island and I have a delivery captain lined up to bring HERS to the new marina in eastern Connecticut. I'd do it myself but the logistics are a pain and I can't spare the whole day from work. This captain does a fair amount of work with the dealer and now he has called them as well. The bottom line is there is a 75% chance that I will have the boat on Thursday. Otherwise it will be sometime the following week and the only water I'll see up close is in the pool.

I've had good service from this dealer in the past so I was especially surprised and disappointed. What can you do?

All the best,

Nancy

They may be on their way to becoming a victim of their own success -- hopefully they'll catch themselves before having any major customer relations issues.  Hope you get good news Thursday!

Boys day out on Friday.  Myself and 3 or 4 guys are heading North up the ICW to St Augustine & the Conch House just for the day.

On Saturday, load up my family and we will head South on the ICW to Cocoa Beach and the Melbourne area for the long weekend.

Safe boating everyone, and have a great Memorial Day weekend.

Nancy,

Sorry to hear you may miss this holiday weekend and the perfect weather. As you know we both have the same dealer. I am sure we could trade some stories. Is it Captain Glenn you use ?

We will be heading to Watch Hill on Fire Island. The south side is the ocean and north side is the bay. The Marina has 170 slips. It will be a good time.
The boat is ready however I have some small items to get ready.

Hi Bryan,

Well, as of this afternoon it looks like I will have my boat for the weekend after all. The captain that I have used and think very highly of is Bob Steinroeder. He is a retired Nassau County police officer, Marine Division, and a terrific guy. He does work for a number of marinas and dealers in addition to Kehl's. Last fall he was doing sea trials/demo's for Windy Yachts after delivering them to the Norwalk Boat Show.

I think that it was his intervention with Kehl's that got them motivated to get HERS ready for tomorrow. Who knows? I'm just happy that the boat will be arriving tomorrow afternoon. The back of the car has been packed full of boat stuff for a week in anticipation.

I'm sure that we could swap plenty of stories!

All the best,

Nancy
