Turns out my wife's aunt just moved into a place on Lk Norman.  Obviously I recognized the name from this forum, so I had to start checking it out.  I have a question for the Lk Norman crowd:  It appears the Catawba River flows in (or out) of Lk Norman.....and the Catawba connects to the Wateree, to the Santee, etc....and eventually to the ocean.  Is that a navigable stretch of water?

Not without some dam jumping and some white water rafting - unfortunately.

The dams form the various lakes...

Lake James, Lookout Shoals, Mt Island, Lake Wylie - etc

I have known some people to kayak / raft down all that stretch though...
