Does anyone know if it matters that the keel lacks the shine that the rest of the gel coat has?  The dull portion is about 3-4 feet long and the width of the keel (about 1-2 inches).  It feels smooth but clearly dull almost like it was beached.  I doubt it was because it was brought in on a truck from the factory yesterday!  I have yet to take delivery of the boat.  Should it matter to me...no fiberglass fibers are showing.  Again this is a brand new boat!  Thanks for any help you can provide!!!

Well, it is a new boat.  I would think just having them give it a complete waxing would do the trick (on their expense of course  )

At first reading...my thoughts were the previous owner had one of those rubber keep strips mounted on there.  But I see you have a NEW boat.

I would be back at the dealer.....no excuse for discoloration like you have described.  The hull is laid all at one time so I can't think of what would cause the discoloration.

Dealer polished the area up perfectly.  Maybe should not have looked at it right off the truck!
Thanks
