yes, definitely a good point nwaring!  you should definitely have one in the cabin as well, if not two...although one below should be sufficient for that size boat.  If it has a mid-cabin, that is probably where it should be.  Also one above is a good idea too.  One like this http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=p ... lpage=none

will give you an actual reading, so you have an idea even before the alarm goes off .  I'm telling you this, as I add this to my list because I want to make sure to get another one for my cockpit area, if nothing else for the "station wagon" effect that can happen.

That's the exact unit that Rinker installed on my boat (although it was labeled as an Attwood which is Kidde's brand name for their marine products).

I got a second unit on sale at Lowe's for $34.95.
