What date do most people consider the official start date of boating season? I'm going to put a countdown timer on the site. When is everybody putting in for the first time (regardless of whether or not it corresponds to the 'season' start date)

Up here in the North Central U.S., I'd say May 1st as long as Mother Nature cooperates.  Dock's-in at our boat club is April 23rd this year.

I would say mid May for most of our members.  We are replacing 1/2 of our docks this year and that isn't happening until the first weekend in May.

Lake Erie doesn't give you much to work with before then anyway.

Ronnie-That's just down right mean!!!

I must admit this is the time of year i miss my bass boat. As long as the lake was not frozen it was time to go boating.
