Owners manuals are very generic there are a few in our library here, they won't tell you much though. Main thing on a 270 is how to open or close the engine hatch when your batteries or dead. Look at your battery switch on each side you see a bolt or lug, you hook a jumper box or another battery with jumper cables to the lugs there is no -or+ on the switch hook them up to go up reverse the cables to go down you'll have swap the cable around to find the direction. There is also a manual pin that can be pulled from a port in the floor.

The word "generic" to describe the Rinker manual is right on. I've learned more from this site than I've gotten from the manual. The separate Volvo Penta manual is actually pretty good. If you have a problem or a question there are some very knowledgeable people here to help you out. I love my 250 and it's been great despite the problems that are pretty much inherent to all boats regardless of brand, price or class.

The Seloc repair manuals are a good source of info on your motor/outdrive and I recommend them

I was looking for a manual that rinker puts out when they sell a new boat.  ie switch opperation ,charging procedures, whether my boat is 110volt or 240 volt and things like that

I'm picking up a new Rinker in a couple of months (260 EC). I can then let you konw whether the manuals are customized to the model or generic. I have a feeling they are generic, and don't answer a lot of specific questions.
If this is the case, I would suggest making up a list of questions for your model and calling Randy Rinker. He is pretty good getting back to people.

This is an area where Rinker can jack things up. However with the current economic climate they are focusing on the boat quality/value and not the "nice to haves", which is probably what I would also do in these times. The product is everything.

I have all the manuals and the black Rinker binder won't help you. All the manuals you get for the boat are usually geared towards individual products like steros, tv, toilet and etc. My favourite source of information for my boat is usually found on line. On-Line information is more updated and can be more helpful than the manuals.

I think getting info online is more useful than the stuff that comes with the Rinker binder....

One thing EVERYONE should have is the ENGINE and OUTDRIVE operator manual, and if doing your own maintenance, you need to have the manufacturer's engine manual.

Let me know what engine and drive package you have, and I may be able to guide you to where to get your model's manuals.
