I just put a deposit on my first cruiser....it is a 2001 270 vee.....it is the middle of winter and I don't take delivery for another couple months but I am very excited...I looked at hundreds of boats before deciding on this one...hopefully I won't be disappointed.....any input on the 270 is appreciated.
Thanks
jim

Welcome to the RBO
I think you'll love the boat and have many great summers with her. There are lots of 270 owners here to give you advice. Where do you do your boating?

Welcome to the site. The 270 is a very popular boat and is great for whatever you like to do, whether it be watersports, overnighting, or just cruising. Enjoy!
Spring can't come fast enough!

I agree spring can't come soon enough...I will be boating on the upper Mississippi north of stl. I plan on keeping it in the slip year round but I have read that it isn't good to keep stern drives wet slipped.....any thoughts?

Welcome aboard. We are fairly new 270 owners as well (since July '11). We have found the boat to be everything we hoped for. We moved up from a 232cc so we really enjoy the extra space. Ours has the 8.1 Volvo which is plenty of power but we also tested 5.7's and they are fine on power as well.
Good luck with the new ride and come on summer!

Okay now i am a little worried....I've been reading a lot of bad stuff in the forums about the fuel tank. Should I let this deter me from purchasing this boat or not??
