Does anyone remember the BC Ferries captain that sank his ferry after hitting a shoal. He was doing his girl friend at the time and no one was at the helm, two people lost their lives. I only trust one captain...ME..!

We have done a few cruises.  The best one for me was the 14 day float across the Atlantic aboard one of the Windstar ships, the MSY Wind Spirit commanded by Captain John Clark.  Windstar is owned by Carnival.

This cruise was a delight, 24/7 access to the bridge.  Small crew.  Well oiled.  Captain Clark did a number of practice safety drills with his crew during the voyage.

I think small is better.

I'm with you, Tony - have done a bunch of cruises (largest was a Royal Carribean 2300 person up to Halifax), and the Admiral and I like the small ships. Did a nice Windstar from Valencia to Lisbon, but commonly sail Seabourn or Silversea -- smaller ships and a very tight well-oiled crew. In fact, since the crew usually moves from ship to ship within the same "family" of ships, you'll see them on a sister ship, and I'm always surprised how many of them still remember you name.  A nice feeling!

Was in St Maartin and saw the Oasis of the Seas -- while it's probably technically quite impressive, I couldn't see actually cruising on it -- it seemed to take hours to embark / disembark!
