Okay, here we go. My Montery had these, they were inserts to block the window ie.like a blind. At night people can see in our boat (not a good thing for me and the miss). Going to the boat show and maybe someone can give me a heads-up on a product pirate

I assume you are talking about over the port windows and not the hatches.  We have curtains that cover our port windows and seem to work pretty well.

The other ones were foam covered material which fit perfectly into the windows, Made of the same material as the sofas etc...

Form fitting insert covered with a nice material for the port windows and a piece of black felt that we lay on the screen of the hatch to block all light.  This also helps with the heat in the summer by not letting in the sun.

Yes , seems that I will make my own, same as with the foam and material. Seems like the best way to go.....I'll know after the boat show!

Also we are looking for this "problem" of boat-looking at night.
We like to have the windows open for fresh air during the (few  shades) warm nights and did not find a solution other than put a pillow for the opening.

If someone has an idea, please show with pictures, thanks a lot also on behalf of the chief.

Here is what we did on our last boat.  3m sticky velco cut 1/2 inch and set along the top of the plastic glass all around.  Then cut material to fit shape of window and stitch the male side of the velco to it.  Works great and easy to install and take down as needed.
