This fall we were on the boat and i noticed that the drive sounded like it was "laboring" more. we got back to the dock ok and when i got home i checked the drive lube. The lube level and color was fine but it smelled "burnt". I changed the fluid and the next time i took the boat out it sounded "normal". We watched the level in the res all day and ran it around 3000 rpm. when we started heading back down the lake at wot we went about 5 miles and then i heard 2 "bad" noises and shut her down. we were able to limb her to the closest (1/4 mile) launch at idle but it sounded like grinding gears dont know bang head. got it home and checked the lube and it looked fine. How light is my wallet going to get huh
