Hello to all the Rinker gurus here!!! I'm in the mist of deciding to redo the boat canvas top and all the windows. What should be the going price of this job? 2008 280ec. Only three years old but even the rear screen is finished. The top is at about 80%, but the windows are just finished, not properly taken care of. Any clues? scratch head

Search Rinker Canvas on this site to find a dealer (Arnold's Boats and Motors in Lousville, Kentucky) who has helped many of us.  If he can't get the right one for you, you'll have to go to a local canvas shop and I would guess you can expect to pay as much as $2,500.

Thanks for the reply! Last night I called the canvas maker I know in Ontario, he said custom fit with all the trimmings,,, no more than $3000 all in. I`m going to the Toronto boat show to see who is there also.

It's worth looking over different materials if you are redoing yours.  I replaced my entire top 2 years ago and use Stamoid as the 'material.'  Easy to clean, waterproof.

I do Canvas work , for myself,. family,,friends ... no commercial work .. Let me suggest You replace the windows and screen .. The original  top can be cleaned and resealed  ( patched if necessary ), giving it many more years of life ...The cost would be way better than a complete top re-make  , and usually they want the boat  at their workplace ...Most good canvas makers wont work using your old canvas as a pattern as it is streched and it will  not  give an accurate  measurement... Just another option for you  ...And for me , I dont think you can beat Sunbrella .... shades

The top is still pretty good. I'll replace all the windows and screen. I like your persprctive on the whole thing. Btw, I dad was stationed in Trenton when he was in the air force, I was born in Belleville.

I replaced my entire camper canvass on my 342, and made some modifations like: zip in screen windows, relocated the attachment at the arch (towards the bow) as it was too low, redid the panels to make them more handleable and get rid of the huge blind spot that was at the port / aft corner, and tinted strataglas in place of eisenglass.  So my whole deal was about $6k.  The local cavnas people did it while the boat was in storage (heated) but they do a lot in-slip too near me.

Everyone has opinions on materials, but the Stamoid just washes off, no more re-waterproofing every year (saving about $100-$150 per season, let alone the hassel), and zero mold/mildew potential.
