I joined this forum to try to get a little review on these boats. Ive been looking for a small cruiser for quite some time know and finally found something I like within my budget. I'm looking at a 99 242fiesta vee with 420 hours on a merc 5.0 alpha 1 drive. I got the guy down to 13k and have been trying to research and find reviews but there pretty hard to findon this spesific model.  I'm really just looking for some pros and cons, any known problems,or just some simple reviews on this or rinkers in general, and some advice from more experienced boat owners. thank you very much for all your help. Happy holidays

One more question. After looking through the forums I have found many people are having problems with fuel leaks and there gas tanks. May I also have some input on this to. Thanks again to all who look and respond

Is the gas tank leak you are hearing with this specific model?  I can't comment on it, but I will say our first boat was a 24'.  It is a fantastic size for about everything.  I skiied behind it, the kids tubed, and we spent several 10-day trips on it.  Sounds like you are getting a good price, but I'd have things surveyed before buying.

Things are a little slower on the forum right now over the holidays, but I'm sure if you give it a little time, a few of our really knowledgeable people will chime in.  Welcome to the forum, and no matter what boat you buy, you can learn a lot on here. thumbsup

The two that I herd of from this forum are the 99 242 fiesta vee and the fv 270 2002 the were both from rubbing on the fiberglass because they sit directly on the glass instead of the rubber rails. Do you know what these tanks aremade of? I have heard nothing but good things in the boats except for this tank problem and them bring underpowered with the 5.0 and alpha 1 drive. Any inputs on that power set up? Thanks again everyone

I would think you would be ok with that setup.  On my 24 Sea Ray I used to own I had the alpha one as well.  It would top out around 40mph & I could slalom ski behind it.  Not bad for a boat that weighed 4300lbs dry.   I will say that drive is a little bit harder to maintain, as far as changing the impeller out (but parts are easier to get and cheaper).  The bravo III has a much better hole-shot and the water pump (& impeller) is on the inboard engine making it easier maintenance, but the drives are much more expensive.
