Hello

I am taking the plunge to switch out XPD from my 2008 330ec. I will be changing to the Ocean X series in the spring. I have a couple of questions.

A) if anyone has made this switch and have any tips for removal of engines and re-install. Please let me know.

B) I was thinking about the volvo electronic controls, is this something that could be switched at the sametime? and any idea how expensive this are? how big a job?

Thanks

Pulling the engine is easy (for a mechanic).  4 bolts, wiring and fuel line and she is out.  Prep your boat by taking the carpets out and pulling everything from the trunk.  No reason to pay labor for that stuff.  When they pull the engines have a sheet of plywood cut to fit where your truck was on its side. This and the curtain will keep the weather out if it gets nasty.

Double check your engines... I think the 2007 or 2008  was the year the electronic system was upgraded for the fly by wire and the Ocean X oil and water sensor should work too.  VP can confirm this for you.  If ya got the bucks fly by wire is the way to go.  silky smooth and very responsive!  Not sure how involved this swap-out would be.

I bet AL could chime in on that part.
