No sound from GlobalMap 3500C
«

Since the day I took over the boat, the GPS has no sound. I've checked the web site, adjusted the setting to Max and still nothing so I can't use any alarms it offers. It's buried in the dash so I wonedr if that's the issue? Does it require an external speaker? Does anyone have any ideas?
Als, how to fit it in the dash hole has been preventing me from a replacement.
Any help greatly appreciated.

I replaced the 3500C that came with our boat with the HDS-5 that I had bought just before trading up. I had to cut the hole out about a 1/4". These units have built in sounds, I don't think there's an actual speaker, it's just a beeper. In the menus, there's an option to turn on sounds, etc... that's all I can think of.

A belated reply, but I have a spare 3500c unit for sale - but I am in Australia so postage will be about $60?
Cheers

I still have my old one as well, I finally replaced it last year so I'd have SmartCraft. (I guess I could put it on craigslist for $10). As far as sound, if you adjusted volume, not sure what else to do.

Contact Lowrance. I have a 3500C and sound/alarm is fine.
Get the operational manuel from the web about 140 pages.

Thanks for all the responses. I' had done everything there was so now I'm trying to get it removed from the panel. Not sure how to do it for the replacement, if anyone has info since I'm afraid to start the surgery!
Thanks!
