I have the opportunity to buy an untitled 2003 Fiest Vee 290 with twin Merc. 4.3L MPI Bravo III's (220hp), the options on the boat include a gps, cockpit cover, a/c, generator and bottom paint.  The dealer is asking $88,000, and I offered $78,000 and am waiting to hear from the sales manager.  2003 bravo III, anyone with corrosion problems with this year drive (I will be fresh water boating only)?  Anyone with this size boat with these motors, is boat underpowered or any problems with these motors, dealer says this boat will do 42mph?  Finally, I would like to hear from anyone who has a 2002,3,4 290 for your feelings about this boat, good or bad.  My email address is U2WILLIE@AOL.COM.

Boattest.com has a test on it, I can't tell what year because you have to pay $8 to see it.  What was the sticker price on that boat?  Seeing that it has had 3 birthdays I would think upwards of 30% off if not more.  You can get 20% off 2006’s.  As far as the B3’s…put magnesium anodes on 'em, make sure the merCathode are working and you should be good; keep an eye on them though.

Good luck

Nice Boat! Have One and does just fine. Yep! 42 sounds about right! Like anything the 290 has some small problems! As long as you are aware and watch for them they are not big issues. You can see some of the issues posted here elsewhere. All in all I would say go for it! Below is NADA pricing as of today! $78,000 is a little high but maybe I did not get all the options in!  $73,000 is the high according to NADA, so your bid he should jump at!
