My rinker 08 246 br is over due for a impeller replacement. Has anyone done this project? (recommend every 2 yrs) Watched a you tube video on it that was pretty good. I really looking for experienced suggestions. What's the best way to access the pump? Should you replace housing also? what kind of grease to use on the impeller? etc
thanks

Its best if you remove the pump from the engine first and then change the impeller on a work bench. Use Vaseline on the impeller when you install it. Don't worry about which direction to put the impeller into the pump since the it will be corrected it on the first turn, hence the lube. Prefer if the boat is out of the water for this. However, it can be done in the water as long as you keep the intake hoses above the water line. Good luck and take your time.

Ron is right, pull the entire pump off.  Also, use  tie wrap around the new impeller when installing it.  Will make it much easier.  When you reinstall the pump, lube up the hoses first and install them on first before bolting on pump. thumbsup  Not too bad a job after a little learning the first time.

Yes, loosen the belt first.  Two bolts on the back of the mounting bracket and one close to the top of the pulley.  I just changed mine!   grin
