We just purchased a new left over 08 300ec.  Everything on the boat is great except the shifter control.  We have a pretty long no wake out to open water and when i try to throttle up the engines a little the the port control won't allow me to slightly increase the engine speed.  Every time i do it pulls it back to idle.  The port side is better and i can increase it a little to get some more speed but its not any fun driving it with one engine idled up more.  Is there anyway to adjust the detent on the controls?

Yup, the brakes in the controller need a little tightening.  Very easy to do.  Gently pop the cover off the remote.   Use something that won't scatch.  On the left and right sides of the remote are philps head screws.  Tighten according to what you want and that's it.

PS you'll need a short philps to get between the remote and windsheild.
