I am in East Central Ohio so I have a few options. Tappan Lake is a nice small lake but can get crowded on the weekends so I head to Salt Fork Lake for more room. I am considering Lake Erie or the mighty Ohio river but have not made it that far.

We are about 25 miles east of Morris (William Stratton State Park) on the Illinois river....I know I'm a river rat.
We also take long weekends to Lake Shelbyville, which is south of Champaigne Il.
Have also gone to Lake Clinton in central Illinois

the niagara river, about 2 miles from the mighty niagara falls. The wind is never a concern and the water is clear. The only problem is if you break-down the current will take you towards the falls, but theres always help
nearby.

Live in St. Louis MO so we have a lot of options. Not a river rat at all. Been going up to Mark Twain lake since it is close and we are new to boating. MT is a calm lake. We plan on leaving the boat down at Lake of the Ozarks because we have some property down there. Wanted to get comfortable with the boat before I go down there with a bunch of crazies with 4x454's on their back end who think they need to run full out all the time.

We prefer lakes. Too much invested to run my nice boat down a river. I live in southern Indiana, so there is not much of a chance to go out on salt water.

Hello - I'm new to the forum, I live in CBUS. My Wife and take our Boat down to Lake Cumberland and keep it there over the summer. Its kinda far, 4.5 hours where we go, but the boating is just awsome!!!! You can see down 30 feet with no problem, not crowded, clear water and plenty of skiing, fishing, houseboating, etc.
East, Central Ohio......

St Margaret's Bay , Nova Scotia Canada. Lots of islands to visit as well as sheltered coves. I have always been a lake boater but discovered the bay(salt water) this year and I love it. Peggy's Cove is possible to get to but the water is pretty open for a 212br. Google the area.... it is beautiful up here.

Been around the forum for a couple of months but I had forgotten to respond to this post. Here is where I do my boating:
http://
The Baltic Sea is an awesome area for boating - with the one exception that the season is about 6 months too short - only April through September - at best.

We slip up in Lake Macatawa, in Holland, MI, with direct access to Lake Michigan. Almost all the boating is on the Big Lake, been to Chicago, and down/up the west michigan shoreline as far north as Northport, MI.
Hoping for a Mackinaw Island trip in 2011. with 2 fresh outdrives for the season!

We boat in Lake Erie out of Erieau, also in Lake St. Clair and Mitchells Bay. For the past eleven years we have spent a couple weeks in the Pickeral River system by Port Loring but this year we are going to venture back to the Trent Severn Canal.
