Long story short.. previous boat owner installed a macerator on the output of the holding tank. The output goes from the tank to the macerator and straight to the thru hull "waste" labeled fitting where you get the tank pumped out. The macerator is dead and the boat shouldn't have one in the first place so I am removing it. Should there be a valve of some kind between the waste tank and thru hull fitting? This is on a '03 FV 270 but I would imagine any boat without a macerator would be setup the same way.

Thank you!

If you are referring to the line that goes from the bottom of the tank to the above the waterline discharge outlet, there is no valve.
