Let's just start this out right.   bang head bang head bang head!!!    Ok, now....  my depth gause hasn't worked since i purchased the boat. I have the charts on my GPS so never been a "huge" concern for me but has been on the list. So,...   pulled the dash today and noticed the transducer isn't even plugged in. At first I was excited, EASY FIX but, as my luck would have it.... i can't find the cable so i get in the engine room and try to start at the source and trace it to the dash. 2 hours later, looking in the sash, trying to trace it back, etc. I give up. I still have my fridge out and dash off but needed to walk away for a bit.  A few comments/ questions.

  • Why aren't the wires labled?
  • DO i need to "unbundle" all the wires to find this thing? It runs into a big bundle of wires right above my waste tank that has a plastic wrap on it. That then runs behind the bar and up to the dash where it seperates to all the gauges.
    • Is there and easy way to find this wire? I feel like I am looking for a needle in a hay stack
    • Can i splice the wire and run a new one?
      • if yes, where can i buy the 2 pin plug for the baack of the depth finder (faria)

      Thanks so much!

The transducer wire is more than likely behind the dash area, near the bottom.  The wire had a common occurance to fall out or be pulled out by the cabin door.  It is there, but hard to locate.  Al

Just go slow with a real good flashlight.  You will find it.

Took 10m when I came back!  grin  I guess it needed a little less  excited and a little more  shades.  It was buried under all the wires? Had to dig for a while but got it. Gauge works perfect. Only one left,....  Sync... excited

God Bless " alswagg"   he is a forum all by his self ....He might remmember my Distributer woes a few months ago ... The problem was traced to Quicksilver defective Cap and Rotor .......They sent me a new order #  and the boat now runs great again ......This forum helped me isolate , check , and find the solution for the problem ... RBO. is a great place .....support it ????..... shades....
