I have a 23ft captive br and live in bayville nj?, Barnegate Bay.  First year owning a boat and would like to take a trip to Atlantic City, plan on doing it on the inside.  Is it possible to do the entire trip on the inside and any recommendations on a marina, plan on staying at a hotel, not on the boat.

Use your GPS , the charts 12324 and 12316 and Local Notice to Mariners (below) and you should be OK.

Yes you can do it on the inside.  I really wouldn't go any further south of AC on the inside.  When in AC get a slip at the Farley Marina and you can get a room at the Golden Nugget. (used to be Trump Marina)

Well the AC trip was a success, good weather and fairly calm waters.  Was surprised on how tired I was after 2.25 hrs. of nonstop boating.

Looking at the charts, it seems like Cape May is doable on the inside, @ Capt BOB, why not go any further then south AC

Some very tricky shallow water.  It could be very dicey doing it by yourself the first time.  You really should get some local experience.  I did the trip once and it was very hairy and nerve racking.

Hi,  i live in Longport just south of Atlantic city and it is a three hour run on the inside to cape may. I did it in July from heavy fog on the outside and the waters are very dicey. I have boated these waters all my life just fifty feet wide channels, 90 turn in Stone harbor and very poorly marked due to fast moving currents. It is doable though!!!Just one hour trip on the outside in calm waters. Plan on a nice weekend and run the outside!!!!
