Love being on the water...

« on: September 12, 2011, 11:09:33 AM »

Just wondering if anyone has an easy fix for this. I have a 93 Rinker 260 F.V. in pretty good condition for its age but this summer the black seals around the windows are leaving black streaks down the side of the boat. Even when I am cleaning the windows black crap comes off on the rag and gets every where. I am planning on redoing the interior this winter and something with these window streaks. I have also noticed water is leaking inside thropugh the seals (it looks like it anyhow) Do I have to replace the seals completely or is there something else I can do. Please help. I spent $450.00 in the spring having the boat detailed and now it looks crappy due to the streaks down the side of the boat.

Maybe you can find a rubber rejuvinator in your area, something you can find in the auto parts place. Silicone products??????????

"Bella Blu". Thanks for the reply. Looks like we both have the same kind of boat. Have any issues?? Mine has been pretty reliable and the Bravo 2 seems pretty tuff. The water heater started leaking and I removed it completely. Most of everything has been replaced. New motor and drive in 05 and last year Its got a new head, stereo, VHF radio, canvas, some gauges, water tank, batt. charger, batts of course, hatch locking handles, microwave and frig too have been replaced. Probably more but afriad to think of what else its been. Besides that it floats pretty good. Best of luck to you!!!

Hey Bella Blu, Is your engine compartment Halon still in working order? I noticed mine is not and wondering what I should do to get it properly charged. Any info would be appreciated!!

I reply'd to your question about the Halon in your other thread.  But just to re emphasize I went to my local Fire Department and they filled it for me.

Looks like we are on the same track as far as "replacement" parts.  The only thing that I haven't done that you have is replace the batt. charger and I did a rebuild of my outdrive this year.  I have never had any issues besides the normal maintenance and "wear-and-tear" issues.  She has been a very good boat for what we have used her for which was mostly rivers.  We just recently moved to MI and are looking for a bigger "lake" boat.  Once Bella gets into those 1 - 3 waves, she gets a little hard to handle and she doesn't like the waves to much.

Good Luck with yours and Have FUN!!!   thumbsup
