I have a Jabsco manual toilet that all of a sudden intermittenly locks up when pumping raw water into it.  I seemed to work ok, although the bowl never did fill up very high, but now sometimes when pumping the lever jams.  I have to switch over to the right to empty it, than back to the left, sometimes that works, sometimes it doesn't.  scratch head

I forgot to grab the model number, so I guess I might not get any answers till I have it, but hopefully someone knows.   bang head

I am also thinking of switching to electric, but not really sure why I would. Is there any advantage to it outside of not pumping, which seems like no big deal.  dont know

Thanks for the assistance.

I quit using that pump a long time ago never worked right even on the new pump assembly we just use the fresh water from the shower head no more ring around the bowl and the tank doesn"t get lake water in it which I think makes the oder worse even though the lake water looks clear there are living things in it.

The Jabsco maunal toilet I had in my last boat experienced the same problem which pointed to the need to rebuild the pump. After some research I found it cost about 20% more to replace the entire bowl and pump versus purchasing a pump rebuild kit. Slapped the new one in and it worked great until I sold her.

I just purchased a complete pump assembly on ebay for $74.00 including freight and it works great. But will see how long it lasts. I also was thinking of going to the electric w/macerator but was concerned about the battery drain if I was out for a week or so as I dont have a generator.

If your talking about the flush and pump when used system then as long as you don't spend to much time on the "head" then you shouldn't have an issue.  I have a holding tank with a macerator and when I was not in a restricted area I would dump all the time and never once worried about battery drain.  That being said, you do have to keep in mind that most macerator's are heavy drains due to the high amperage they use.  Flush when you need it, but only as much as you need it.   thumbsup
