Well, it's happening again this year, for anyone that missed out on a good time last year.  (http://www.rinkerboatowners.com/forum/index.php/topic,8197.0.html)  Fireworks will be set off Saturday night.  I'm hoping the weather will hold out for us.  Should definitely be a good time.

They'll be shooting off a barge directly off Marker #7.  I'm thinking about anchoring early near the island early on and just enjoy the weekend there.  Hasn't been any jellies, so swimming will be nice too.

Anyone out there going??  Definitely welcome to tie up and make a party out of it! pirate

John - Were you able to confirm that they are on?  Someone in our marina told me yesterday that they are not having them.  We have relatives coming in for the weekend, so that may hamper our boating, but that was a great time last year.

Doug, I was looking at the chesapeake bay power boat association and is it seems like they are saying it is on still. http://www.cbpba.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6100 & http://www.cbpba.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5890 Dan had told me the same that you heard.  I believe Ken/Joan had told him.  I'd like to know for sure as well because if not, we might either hit Solomons and see the Blue angels or raft up with a few in Still Pond.  Let me know if you hear any more as well.

I know what you mean about relatives coming in.  It happened to us last year.  Hence why we boated back in the dark after the fireworks last year.

The link certainly looks like it has all the info.  I heard it from Ken also.  I'll try to ask around.

Well, the fireworks were fantastic!!  We tied up with Eagles Nest and a sailboat.  Sure had a really good time!  Glad I didn't fall for the rumors going around about cancellation.  I think there were a few in the marina that changed plans or just didn't do anything because of the rumor cancellation.  Kind of ashame because I have to say it was an absoultely beautiful night to be out.  Also glad I didn't listen to the weather man, because we were out until this morning (Monday) and all was great!  For anyone else that was out there, (we were easy to find,if you didn't see the sailboat tied up to two powerboaters), sorry we were the loud ones till wee hours of the morning!

Hope all had a great holiday weekend! thumbsup

Glad you enjoyed them.  We were out all day Saturday with relatives on the boat (10 people) so hung out in the marina Saturday night, but could see a lot of the fireworks from there.  Had some other plans with the relatives for Sunday, so we bailed early on the day.  Lots of South River rats headed over to the Bay Bridge Marina for the weekend.
