Ok, so ripped the floor out to get to sea water pump to replace the impeller since old one grenaded. I also replaced thermostat. I flush system with hose and then switched to sea water pump and started over heating.
So boat was parked in slip of few months and there is growth on hull and out drive. What is next step?
Thanks in advance!

First of all, why did you ripp up the floor???  The main floor has about a dozen screws and will lift out very easily to gain access to the entire from of the engine.  The 232 is one of the easiest boats to service the sea water pump that Rinker ever made.   Once you rebuilt the pump did you account for all of the impellor blades?  They can get clogged very easily in the oil cooler.  Another place to look is the pivot housing hose, this can become clogged and limit the amount of water flow.  Good luck with the fiberglass repairs as well as the overheating  Al

Check to make sure you connected to hoses correctly it easy to get them swapped. This will cause it to over heat

I didn't really "rip," the floor out..I did unscrew it and moved it out..I did rebuilt the pump and cleaned all the pieces of previous impeller. Now it doesn't get over 110 which is awesome!
New problem...boat will not do more then 10mph and 2800 rpms when I bury the throttle.
Dirty Fuel?
Plugs?
Engine sounds great and will go over 2800prm in neutral.
Thanks everyone!

I'm the farthest thing from an expert!!!!

But from this site I learned a couple of things---make sure your hull and drive are clean in reference to your speed and rpms

My 232 captiva overheated because the thermostat gauge never registered over 140 degrees---(bad sending unit), now when warmed up the gauge the temp is 175 degrees.  110 degrees seems very low.

Sounds like you have a low fuel pressure problem possibly.  Check the pressure using a high pressure fuel gauge.  45 psi is normal.

Yeah, Was thinking fuel..I replaced the filter..the old filter actually didn't look to bad but did notice the air filter was full of  black dust so going to simple green that and spray out. Also, the coil plug wire had corrosion on the coil end when I pulled it off coil the wire came apart from boot and the crimped piece left in coil was full of crud. Looks like it needs a complete tune-up with plugs, wires, cap, and possibly new coil. Not sure If I can use coil with all the junk in it. The throttle body looked like it hasn't been clean for a few years also...wow digging through the engine now can see it will require some hours! Thanks guys. New to gas marines so kinda asking some basic things.
