Count the blue plugs :-) Should only be one.

Actually, the more pics the better. I've heard mixed reviews on the new platform. What do you think?

Boatsrule, Find out if Rinker still offers Perfect Pass as a option. Its no longer listed on there we site. Also notice the engine hatch struts just wondering if they've been changed
Thanks
Steve

Perfect pass list listed as standard on the R1 & R2 accoreding to the '06 literature. No other mention of it for the other models though.

Thanks Talon. I'm glad to hear that they still have PP. I know from conversations with Rinker and Gary at PP that they spent alot of effort to put  PP in the R1 and R2. Gary told me he spent alot of time at the Rinker factory developing the software and insuring that it would work properly in the Rinkers. Its on of my favorite features on my boat

IMO struts are too short or locatded too far forward. Access to engine is poor.

NO RINKERS AT OUR SHOW!!!!
According our local Rinker sales guy at the show, Rinker was not able to supply the new models in time for the show!!
I can go off on a tangent about not being able to supply your new models in time for the boat show season but I wont.

GAH!!!!

That sucks. Same thing happened to our dealer. Not on the Rinkers (he had one of everything there) but with the Formula's he also carries. They didn't ship him anything in time for the show.

I can tell you from my 246 the struts are definitely too short.  A placement change will not help.  They definitely need longer ones (I'd say about 10 more inches.

Perfect Pass is still an option on all 226 and 246's.  I don't recall the cost but I know that it is pricey.

If you are looking for photos - here are the ones from my dealer: http://www.boats.com/sites/southwestmar ... oats&pic=0

As for the hinged sun pad - we personally like it.  It is cumbersome to move - but in my opinion it will be in the down position nearly all the time.

The observation of hatch struts being too short seems to be a common theme.  We'll have to get this feedback to the folks at Rinker...if dealers already haven't.

I think the 232's were one of the most successful models the company ever produced..and had nearly a 15 year run.  That in itself speaks volumes.  They probably could have changed paint schemes and kept it around for another few years.  The public will decide if the 246 truly replaces it.

Second season with the 246 Cuddy and we love it.  I just think change is hard for some.  The integrated swim platform making it just over 26' gives it a "yacht" rating wich is nice to have if possible.  We love the cockpit lay out to entertain and comfrtable to overnight on.  All in all a great boat  thumbsup

Pretty sure the new 226 is the replacement for the 232. They're both 23'6" X 8'6"

As opposed to the 246 > 26'2" X 8'6"

"Plastic facade over engine compartment vents (both sides) feels fragile." I have the 07 246 bowridr with the black plastic over the vents. After two season both of them are cracked arond the mounting screws. I will remove and use fibreglass on the back side to repair.
They should have mounted them with a form of rubber washer to comensate for the stresses put on them from people thinking its a place to steady themselves as they walk through the area to the rear of the boat.
