How to contact a moderator directly?
«

I tried to send a message directly to a moderator but couldn't find a way to do it except to post a new topic. Sorry if I missed it if ther's a way to do it.
While looking for another member's contact info, I came across the first 4 newbie listings with their reference web sites and they all look like spammers to me. I also looked at the newbie listings on the first page and it seemed there are many with no posts. Don't know what gives there.
I thought I'd not clutter up the board with this query so I'm sorry for the post but I thought a mod might want to check it out.
Again, thanks for all you efforts in maintaining this terrific site!

Send a PM (personal message) the little circle with the M under the members name. But I assure you we are deleting and banning spammers as fast as we can all you have to do is click report and all 3 of us get an E-Mail

Oh yeah, I know and as I said, I really appreciate all the mod's efforts and that's why I tried not to post it. I was just trying to help because it looked like they might have set up for more spamming if they were listed as members. They didn't post anything, at least yet anyway, so I usually check report to moderator when they have a meeage, and I send a message in the little box, but this was on the member list and I couldn't figure out who to send it to, or how to let you guys know so I posted here.
Believe me, I know you guys are having a tough time of it and are on top of it. Just trying to help out by calling attention to them. Sorry for the wrong impression.

Osead, you're absolutely right. We tend to go through the member's list every few hours and ban suspicious ones. That keeps us busy a few hours a day. There are others that are "on the fence", so we wait and see what they do -- each of the mods has had that "unfortunate" situation of banning someone that didn't deserve it, and have reinstated them. But thanks for your offer -- and do know that, for all the active members you see posting every day, there's probably about 10 times that number that come here (either lurking as guests or as members) just to read and research the posts both for entertainment and to take care of their Rinker -- I'm sure you'll run into them out on the water just as I have.
But the mods are always there, just PM us or report a link and we'll respond.

Thanks so much PR360. Just trying to help out with the tremendous effort I see you guys are doing. I'll just go message by message as I have done in the past.
Again, sorry for the confusion and I really, really appreciate what you guys do here. Thank you!

Why not just switch the new members to manual approval?
It sure would stop a lot of the spam, I'm getting sick of reporting it and I'm sure you're getting sick of deleting it.

First answer, we do not have the authority to do that or make changes to do that.
Last two, yes & yes....for know we just go on and do what we can.

Great idea but we can't do anything but ban & remove post. Talon is the only one that can change anything here, and we can't find him. If only he would update our forum everything would be a lot better,I can see less members posting because sometimes it takes so long to log on, I see RBO on it's death bed if we don't get some updates soon.

Is there an alternative plan if the Mods can't get to Talon for thee site? I'd really hate to see it disappear. And thanks again for the great job you all do!

If we had the mass mail option we could notify all the members if we were to open a new board but we don't have that option.
