I am looking at a 2005 270 Fiesta Vee with 54 hours, 8.1 GI, Kohler 5.0 generator has 34 hours, full isingglass / canvas enclosure and trailer. I am having a mechanic check the motor today and then will have the boat serveyed. Anything else I should be concerned with ? The boat is located in California and has been stored out of the water. Thanks for any help - Snarlin

My guess is XDP drive on that boat....do your homework on this board.  Search "XDP" for a few examples.

If its a Volvo 8.1 with an XDP drive, as Navy said, it has issues but, with an aluminum drive, sounds like its not.  Do the research and it will help you make you decisions.  Best of luck.

The 8.1 XDP had a recall so make sure it was serviced for it if it's an XDP.

All the best and welcome!
