Herm, we do it all the time. Just put the drives up a bit and no worries.
Bottom is sand anyhow, so no big deal. I paint the bottom of my drives each year and coat them with wax in the spring. Our tidal change is usually less than 2 feet, so if it's high tide and 5 feet, not a problem at all. We do use front and stern anchors, and lots of them.
