When I open any faucet and draw water from the fresh water tank the pump comes on in a few seconds and appears to run normally until about 10-15 seconds later.  With the faucet still open, the pump starts to pulsate and causes the cabin lights to flicker with it.  This will continue as long as the faucet is open.  When I close the faucet the pump will stop.  When I turn it back on soon after, the cycle repeats itself.

I'm waiting for a break in the hot weather to get down in the bilge to see what's going on but until then, any advice or experience to share would be much appreciated.  Thanks, -Steve

One thing you have to remember is that the water pump is a LARGE pull on your batteries. Mine pumps at 1800 watts which is on the top end of my 12v system.  Also, this is common (at least in my experience) for water pumps.  I wouldn't worry to much.

Are you also hooked up to shore water? The same thing will happen if both are turned on. Also check to see if the screen filter is blocked. That could cause that problem also... Good luck and keep us posted....

Good advice, thanks all!  I'm not hooked up to shore water but I am connected with shore power.  But the same thing happens when I'm only on the batteries.  I'll check the filter screen too and keep you posted on what I find.
