Hey 232 owners, just curious what kind of top end speed you are seeing. I have a 2005 232 CC with the 350 mag and the bravo III drive. Currently I'm running 26P props with a WOT of 4950 rpm and I'm running about 49 mph with me, my wife and a 1/2 tank of fuel. Is this about normal ?

There can be more factors: drive trim, weather & water conditions.
My 2004 232 Captiva can hit 50 and it has a 305 in it in perfect conditions.

1998 (oldest here so far, I think) 232BR, 5.7L, B3, 26P, WOT 5K RPMs (too much!), 1/2 tank, w/ two men at 1/2 trim, 51mph per GPS.

hey bvwebb. i have same year and set up, but im only getting 4200rpm and 47mph on speedo. im trying to figure out whats wrong with mine. the only thing i can think of is that i need to clean the bottom under the bunkers, because when i got her i had to scrape the bottom but couldnt get that part.

I'm chagrined to see these numbers. I'm in a 97 232 cuddy, 5.7 alpha one, stainless prop. I need to yank it and examine the pitch. I'm only getting about 30 mph on the gps WOT around 4600 rpm. Previous owner tried several props before selecting the current one. I think I may have to go to a 'longer' prop. Comments?

cthom: I have asked seveal people about my tach being correct or not. All agreed that until I get it checked, to respect it and just because it will go that high not to actully do it. So I don't. As far as the speed goes, I used my Garmin (auto) GPS to get the 51mph. I had a buddy in a bass boat beside me for good measure - he had his GPS and speedo confirming te 51 mph.
galbro: Doesn't a cuddy have more weight to it? Also, alpha one vs. Bravo 3; vast difference. I have owned both.
