Hung out in the Magothy today - gas at Magothy Marina was around $4.69/gal for 89. Great service there. The river was pretty busy so we headed for the cove by the glass house and did some swimming. Looks like there are some very shallow areas back there. Dobbins island looked very busy as well!
Hope to meet some of you this summer!

A great anchorage area!!  There are some shallows around there... just be careful.  If you didn't, go up around the point a little further to the right and you'll find another great anchorage off the shores of Gibson Island.  Enjoy!!

We didn't go around the point this time but will do so. It looks like there were are few boats moored back there.

Is there a standard procedure for anchoring near Dobbins island? Looked like a ton of boats there. Are they in the shallows or right off?

I know right where you went, broad creek.  Great place and pretty sandy!  If you don't have anything going on this weekend, there should be at least a dozen or more of us anchoring over in Still Pond. thumbsup

BTW, $4.69 is a bit high for our side of the bay...do some checking around.  I filled up yesterday on the South for $4.18, which seemed a bit high.  I believe you can get it for $4 looking around a bit.  If you are ever on your way to Baltimore, a place between Bodkin and Rock Creek is definitely the cheapest.

Also, this weekend on the magothy at dobbins will be absolutely crazy!!  Several hundred boats will be anchored up for their annual party....just a warning, if either you want to go, or stay away. wink
