I am having a problem with the vinyl that covers my dash on my '98 232 coming unglued at the bottom of the dash. Does anyone know what kind of adhesive Rinker used to get the vinyl to stick to the dash? I have tried a basic spray adhesive, but as soon as the heat built up under my cover, it came apart.

Same here,  I used silicone adhesive in the tube. And used small kitchen chip bag type clamps and it has stuck for quite some time now and im somewhat ocd about that type stuff and check it everytime we are out and its holding tight still.

I also had the same issue. I tried everything then one day in Home Depot I found Liquid Nails for Plastic tubs in a squeeze tube. Pull the vinyl out a little and squirt some Liquid Nails in and use a bunh of wood clothes line clips to clamp overnight. Mines been nice and tight for a few months and has no signs of loosening up in the heat.

Even better, I picked up some black vinyl trim, used in the RV industry, and tapped that into place around the edge of the dash.  Holds the vinyl in place and provides a nice finished look.  Sort of like this: http://www.trimlok.com/regular_trim.aspx

Where did you find it? I could live with something like that. It would look better than the jagged edge of the cut vinyl. At $230 for a 250 foot roll, it is a little expensive.

How come you have a jagged edge? I would think if you put the trim edging on it will catch water and junk and mould in there. I guess you could slide it off and clean it and put it back on.

The vinyl has come unglued at the bottom of the dash and that is where it was cut at the factory. It wasn't the best of cuts, probably because it was supposed to be hidden.

Check local RV supply stores, normally sold by the foot.  If you still can't find it shoot me a pm and I can get some locally to ship to you.  The only color my supplier has is black.  I also have a couple feet sitting around from other projects, I could send you a piece to see if it will work for you first if you would like.

Try a local upholstery shop for automotive stuff. I would think they would have one to match color.

I have the same issue with my dash.  Today, I fixed 'er up with DAP contact cement obtained from ACE Hardware.  Application was easy, just brush it on both surfaces to be mated, let it rest for at least 15 minutes, then press in place.  As of about 5 hours later, it appears to be holding real strong.  I'll let you all know how long it holds together.

I am curious as to how it will hold up with the heat. I was looking at mine the other day and it was frustrating to not have found a solution for it.

It's been a few weeks and the DAP is holding up nicely!
