The anchor works great.  We spent two nights on the hook beside Egmont Key near the pilot boat station in 25-30 knot winds.  Wave heights maybe 3 feet coming in from the long fetch.  That anchor owned the bottom.  Far different than the more timid plow anchor it replaced.  It should allow us to anchor along the route on our next loop trip in places we were unsuccessful with the plow.

Capt Ron's ideas about 100% chain sound good.

Politby's comments about the Manson anchor is how I got familiar with it.
