I have a solar powered ventilator that I want to install into one of the cabin deck hatches, probably the one above the galley. Is it safe to make a 110 mm hole in the hatch?

I suspect the hatch material is some sort of acrylic. The hatches are Bomar, aren't they?

Thanks

Sailboats do this all the time.  The trick is to put in the hole.  Ideally a hole saw or a mill.  Smooth and chamfer the edges.  Don't 'burn' through it, that leads to cracking.
