I'm going to look at a 1999 212 Captiva Bowrider this evening with a Merc 5.7/Alpha 1.  I'm not new to boats but am new to Rinker and Mercruiser.  Anything specific to look for with this setup beyond the basics?  Any advantages or disadvantages to this particular model/year?  Also is there anywhere to find the gross weight of this?

Thanks!!

The 212 is an awesome boat.  I would not hesitate with that setup.  Besides the normal checks, there is really nothing out of the ordinary that I can remember with that boat.  Gross weight should be on the title.  HTH

I don't know about the 1999 model, but the 2002 model year 212 is 3,120 lbs dry weight according to Rinker's specifications. That obviously excludes the trailer as well as all fluids, gear or people. If I am correct the hull is the same for 1999 as 2002, but the interior changed fairly significantly somewhere in that timeframe, so that weight may be a bit off.

Great - thanks for the info and vote of confidence!  Have a '97 Glastron 19' now ... hoping this will work out to be an upgrade in several areas.  Sounds like pulling it with my Jeep Unlimited may be close but I'll work that out.  Thanks!
