There is an underwater light out now that just screws into the drain plug. I think its called liquid lite. Very cool, no drilling and no holes.....

Nice addition, looks good. Corral42 what is that hose connection on the port side? wouldn't happen to be a drain for a possible cooler or bait tank under the small cushion aft is it?

It's the hose bib for a raw water pump. I use it to clean the dog hair and sand out of the dinghy and off the swim platform.

Just installed one. The 6 LED version is just bright enough to light up the water under the swim platform on my 342. Of course this time of year it never gets completely dark here so we will have to wait until August for it to really show.  grin

Dang-It! There goes another $340 dollars....That is too cool of an idea and too easy of an install to pass up.  drool Promised the Admiral a month ago no more big purchases for the boat. Will try to work the safety angle....maybe that will save me.

Let us know how you like it.

I installed the switch (Carling rocker) on the aft bulkhead next to the stereo remote. Made the wiring simple.

How is your radar install going?

Looks great! Corral42, did you wire that into the existing cabin lighting?  Can you share details? Did you use a terminal block to add the extra lights?

Thanks!

P-O,

What power source did you tie into? I was thinking about adding a terminal block behind the battery switch and then running that direct to the battery. That way as I add more 'toys' to the boat I will have an easy way to tap into a power source. Electrical is not my friend so I am all ears if you have a better way.

As far as the radar goes I am holding off on the install until after the boat is transported to its new home in AZ. Probably won't splash until early July.

Send a pic of your rocker switch install if you can...you have given me inspiration.

Best!

I connected it to the "cabin panel" switch behind the battery switch door - positive wire from there to the rocker switch to light. I have installed an extra ground block in the engine compartment, located by the water heater, that can be reached w/o flipping the engine hatch open all the way.

I put a  Blue Sea Systems distribution block at the helm to make connection of new toys easier. More useful there me thinks.

Will snap a pic of the switch this evening.

PS: Arizona? Better climate - smaller lake(s), eh?
