got out on the boat and gave it a good 4hr ride on lake winnipesaukee nh. i cant belive how much better this boat rides then my old 20' wellcraft. boat gets on plan with 4 peeps and full tank of gas in seconds and on choppy water got to 50 mph measured by gps and speedo.   only one problem was the radio keep shuting off when closing the head door or hitting a wave hard. so now i have to figure out were the short is.  even with that little proplem still very happy with my rinker

Congrats on the boat and Welcome Aboard.   thumbsup
As for the short, it sounds more like a loose connection.  Behind the console is a power distribution block (mine is thru the shower behind the mirror door) that is subject to weather and corrosion.  I would start there and then I would look at the connections for the radio.

The detachable faceplate to the stereo sometimes gets loose in ours, make sure that is securely connected.

Congrats on your 246! It's a great boat. My wife and I love ours. If you ever decide to install a sub, the Infinity Basslink works great mounted on the bathroom wall by the deck and man does it sound great.

Enjoy your Rinker!
