Cracked Block

Hi ya'll. I'm new to the site and did see a link on replacement mercruiser motors. Well you may have guessed it but I did not properly winterize my 2008 305 Volvo Penta and am looking for any help on getting it replaced. Will insurance cover this? How much? Does anyone have a link? I'm located in the Dallas area. All help is greatly appreciated.

I have never had an insurance company cover the cost of freeze damage, but we live in the North where winterizing is mandatory. Check you insurance company and ask. You will probably also need heads as the Vortec engines usually also crack the head casting when freezing. Remember you have a Vortec block. If you were in my area a new assy complete would cost arount $3,500. To bad you don't have 5.7 lt as they are generally cheaper to replace by about $500.00. Sorry to hear about your issues, I hope you can get them resolved soon. Al
